The Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) conducts the Sikkim Combined State Services Examination (SCSSE) 2026 for recruitment to Group A and Group B posts in the Government of Sikkim — including Sikkim Civil Service (SCS), Sikkim Police Service, Block Development Officer, and District Welfare Officer. With Sikkim being one of India’s smallest States and a constitutionally protected entity under Article 371F, the SCSSE is one of the most competitive yet least-discussed PCS exams. This guide covers eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, books, and a 12-month preparation strategy aligned with the latest 2026 notification.

About Sikkim PSC and the Sikkim Civil Service

Set up in 1978 under Article 315 of the Constitution after Sikkim’s merger with India in 1975, the SPSC has its headquarters in Gangtok. It conducts the SCSSE annually (when posts arise) for the Sikkim State Civil Service — an officer who handles district administration, revenue, welfare schemes, and disaster response across Sikkim’s six districts (after the 2021 reorganisation: Gangtok, Mangan, Pakyong, Soreng, Gyalshing, Namchi).

Unlike UPSC, SPSC Mains has no optional subject. Mains is entirely on General Studies + Essay + Language papers.
